Shot By Her Hand

Once upon a time.
There was this one night.
Where the stars were aligned.
One, two, three.
They were honest.
Orion, Artemis.
She didn't know that
It was Orion taking a swim
Out in the water.
His head bobbing above the surface.
Apollo wanted Orion dead.
He knew Artemis loved Orion.
But the twin didn't care.
So Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt,
Was told she didn't have good aim.
Apollo challenged her to hit that
Object bobbing out the water.
Artemis, not knowing it was her love,
Shot her arrow.
She swam out to retrieve the object,
Found her love dead.
And in his remembrance, she placed
Him in the sky, as a constellation.
To remember him.
To honor him.
Her love.
That's how she lost her love.
A bow and arrow.
Shot by her hand.
