L'amour de Paris

I smell the champagne, the smell of sweet bread.
Feeling the European breeze fall beneath the trees.
We're out on the streets,
Looking for a fancy place to eat.
Our American tastes buds ready for Paris sweets.
We buy a pastry, delicately swallowing it whole.
We then would wish we savored even its soul.
But I take his hand and we're off to see a
World famous tower.
The Eiffel Tower that is, and its feature of great power.
It stands tall, it holds its weight firmly, straight into the air.
Rooted deep and steadfast, it breaks away our focus
As we just linger and stare up at this massive tower.
Our hair flows and gathers again and again.
But this European breeze doesn't cease our bewildered faces.
Here we are in a new place.
Standing with our hands clutched because of
The cold wind and the feeling of being together in this moment
Standing before his highness with integrity.
Paris, France, a time to have our slow dance,
And place to conjure sweet romance and have a glass of wine.
Knowing that time after time, we're still here together.
Holding similar strength, having strong integrity,
And keeping sweet love like the Eiffel Tower.
When this day happens, we know the love we share
Is permanently ours.
