Blocked

There is really less to say,
I've written what I've had on my plate.
Writing was a filter for all my love.
But everything's already lifted into the sky above.

It's not that I've lost my love,
It's not that I can't write.
It's thinking of more things to say,
And saying it right.

I've been strewn down
Because of not knowing
What else to express.
I'm feeling empty and burdened,
Speechless and compressed.

Wrapped In Love

I'm wrapped in your arms tonight,
Beneath these star-studded skies I'm all right.
We're perfect where we are,
We don't need no fancy car.
We stay in eachother's arms all night.
I love the way you kiss my cheek,
As if everything in this world is at our feet.
You never disappoint my beaming heart,

That's the reason why I'm always happy.

Battle Scars

Battling unearthed wars is demanding.
Step inside my mind, see where I'm standing.
Believe in my instinct just once,
Understand where I'm coming from.
Take a shot for me as I would for you.
But those are things you can't do,
You won't do.

Be still in my presence.
Watch my eyes, see them break,
See them cry.
Look beyond my flesh,
Be there to catch my breath.
Hold my hand before I fall.
See this heart go through it all.

Battle through my broken smiles.
Break into my heart,
Tear me apart,
And fix me all over again.
Understand this place I'm coming from.
Patch my wounds just enough.
Feel my mind racing up mountains.
Observe my heart through rising actions.

I'm not saying that I'm at war.
Just scent my thoughts, feelings, worries.

Resharpen tormented swords,
And bask in present glory.

This Boy

And I got a single glimpse of sweet love tonight.

I can't understand it all at one time, though.

But he kissed my lips with a smile,

And held me back against the wall.

He took my hand and it felt as if he'd never let go.

He breathed and it felt as if he'd live to be forever mine.

This boy, he truly loved me.
