Pumpkins

I'm leaping through pumpkin isles,
I look back and I see you smile.
You tell me that I look like a baby deer.
I turn around and go back to you,
I start playfully punching you,
And you pretend that I've broken you.

You take me by the hand,
And you show me a pumpkin I might like.
I smile and I see you feel satisfied.
You tell me that it was nothing but that you tried,
And I hug you with all my might
And you pretend that I've broken you.

Boy, I'm as little as anyone could be.
Why do you keep teasing me?
But anyways I keep on smiling.
I poke you around your chest,
Wondering if you've got pecks,
Then you pretend that I've broken you!

Again I say, boy, I'm not that strong.
I'm as little as the town I'm from.
Then you see my face
And grab me around my waist.

He tickles me every where!
I think the words, but I do not swear.
I'm laughing until my ribs really hurt.
I tell him, boy, I think you've broken me,
I can't seem to get back on my feet,
C'mon, I'm as little as anyone could be.

Then you sit up right,
Look me in the eyes,
And you take my hand so gently.
Here I am, looking you in the eyes,
You don't understand how much
My butterflies rise.

He says, "Girl, you've broken me,
Why can't we just already be?
I'm here waiting for you to be mine.
I see your eyes are beautiful,
Take my hand, you're something more...
Then just a friend.
Girl, I'm broken...
For you."
