Element

I try to keep puzzle pieces into place,
But courageous feats just run away.
I stay hidden beneath its paper clones,
Miles of piles like stacked up stones.
I'm trying to find light in this dark place,
But in this box it seems I'm meant to stay.
How will I find some outlet out?
I'm going bare, no one hears my shouts.

I'm so little, I'm so helpless.
Claustrophobic and restless.
These four walls won't seem to break,
But it's my fault, my mistake.
I should have broken free when the chance came.
I need to stand up for myself and not cave.
I'm meant for something better, something great.
I have a purpose not meant for this restraint.
I have two legs and two arms,
Meant for something good, not harm.

I think I'm getting this.
The puzzle pieces are beginning to fit.
I'm finding my new place, my new element.
Courage is the key
To becoming what I was born to be.
To becoming something that is worthwhile.
Something that will go the miles.

Now I know this all starts in me.

Safe Keeping

I'd live to die for him.
He's my resting place, my calm sea.
He is the place that I want to be.
Through trials and storms
He lifts me from the ground.
I hover over the city lights,
I see over my home southern nights.
He's gracious to me
And keeps me safe from any harm.
The world brightens at his smile,
Tangles when they hear his voice.
I'm so emptied of choice,
And it doesn't bother me.
I'm right in the place that I'm meant to be.
He is the boy that is meant for me,
He's my safety, my calm sea.
I brush up like a wave against his feet,
Never letting go, never leaving him into the deep,
Cuz I want to be his resting place when he needs me.

As Red Diamonds Would Be

He's my safe haven, my handsome masterpiece.
He fits the places in my heart so benevolently.
He always there for me.
He reaches for my soul and breathes life into me.
My arms are outstretched for his love,
Courageously taking hold of his hand
Just to never let go.
Never to feel the weight of empty air,
And to believe in a love so truly rare,
Only to come to realize that true love is fair.
A love that glides through the skies so effortlessly.
He has come into my life so pleasantly and unscripted.
He's become a daily chance to love over and over again.
To fall in love each time my eyes open.
He's the epitome of love.
He is my true safe haven,
A masterpiece as priceless as red diamonds.

My Puzzle Piece

He makes me feel like home.
Like he is where I'm meant to be.
Like a finished puzzle piece,
Like a flower fully bloomed.
He makes me swoon,
I get butterflies when I think of him.
I melt in my heart thinking of him.
This boy, he makes me feel like home.
Like he is where I'm supposed to be.
I'm like a missing puzzle piece
Finally finding what's missing from me.
He is what I need and who I am.
I'm like a flower, fully bloomed.

Precious

I want rose petals on top of my covers.
Surprise chocolates hanging from my door.
I want to walk into my room to find you there,
I want to be hugged from behind without asking,
I want you to play with my hair.
I remember when you used to feed me those little sour patch bears.

I want a candle-lit, romantic dinner.
I want to watch movies while snuggling in my bed.
I just want to be silly without it going too far,
And tell you about every plot of every book I've read.
I want you to know I love Country music,
Without you making fun of their voice.
Build a house with you when we're older that blocks out inner noise.
I want our children to know of the true love we carry in our hearts.
I remember when you first kissed me, your lips lit sparks.

Though I can never get the words you said to me out of my head,
The ones that really hit my heart hard.
I want to always show you how much I truly love you,
And that my love for you will never fall apart.
I want our love to stay sweet,
Stay pure and innocent.
I want sensitive and romantic.
I want silly and precious,
Just like we promised.
Just like we said
On July 30, 2010.

It's a Love Story

Our candles are lit.
The moment sticks,
With every inch covered in rose petals.
Our room, a sacred haven of our love,
Radiates strawberry-vanilla  scents.
Smells, it smells like him, his perfect cologne.
I close my eyes and wait by the phone.
But he's home.
I see his lights beam through the windows,
Off the walls and back at me.
I see his smile as I run to the door.
There he is, my beloved Amor.

I'm wearing his work shirt,
Buttoned up like a dress on me.
He wraps his arms around my waist,
Leaving but little space from what I see.
He tells me he's home,
And I smile, "I know."
He says,
"The candles are lit, our moment's here,
Whisper that sweet voice in my ear.
Take me to our room,
Our sweet haven of love.
I'm dying to know what you're thinking of."

So I close my eyes and I wait for his kiss.
But he's already left my lingering lips.
I chase after him into our sweet haven.
I see his smile as I reach the door.
There he is, my charming Amor.

Sweetheart

And I saw it in his eyes,
He loved me from head to toe.
He worried of what I might know.
But here's the truth about me,
I'll never judge by what I see,
'Cause his heart is what I love.
Attractions are just extra,
His smile is worth it all,
I'll always be there for him,
Be there when he falls.
He's my Bestfriend,
The one I'll be there for 'til the end,
The boy who I'm in love with, with every breath.
He comforts me and cares for me.
And I intend to do the same.
One day, my last name is gonna changed.
