Broken River

I'm here at a river,
Walking through from stone to stone.
I'm wondering how far I have left to go.
Seeing the past and present collide,
Wondering when I'll find the other side.
This is a sadness I've never known.

This is true hurt, and true pain.
Why did I choose a path of mistake?
Regret and fear breaks through my hands.
The tears shattering under a hammer's head.
I'm a river not knowing where to go.
This is a sadness I've never known.

Each step I would take,
I never knew what it would change.
I never thought the one thing I love now
Would be affected by my past bad decisions.
I'm here at a river,
Walking from stone to stone.
This is a kind of sadness I wish I'd never known.

Blocked

There is really less to say,
I've written what I've had on my plate.
Writing was a filter for all my love.
But everything's already lifted into the sky above.

It's not that I've lost my love,
It's not that I can't write.
It's thinking of more things to say,
And saying it right.

I've been strewn down
Because of not knowing
What else to express.
I'm feeling empty and burdened,
Speechless and compressed.

Writer's block.
That's what this is.
Not knowing what to write,
Not knowing what else to express.
Speechless and compressed.

Potion Number Zero

Sometimes I'm all alone in a vacant room,
Stirring nothing new but an old brew.
Finding portions to key ingredients,
To create something to have some kind of
Allegiance.

At the end of the day,
I tend to have to start all over again.
Finding nothing except a part to an
Old end.
I'm a witch, waiting for that special
Rendezvous.
But here I am, stirring this same old brew
Like a fool.

At the end of the day,
All I am is a witch wanting to find
A potion to bring back youth again.

But the ingredients were never found,
The potion never brewed abound.
So there I go, flying through the night
Back to lonely rooms lacking longing abundance,
And you realize, youth can never come twice.

Old Rivals Come for Revivals

What would truly happen?
How would thing's be brought into the light?
How would it be if I just saw him, right here. Tonight.
I'd shut my window, lock all the doors.
Be the one to call all the scores.
"Play" doesn't fit into my vocabulary.
I realized this was anything but extraordinary.
You sat in your high chair,
Stared me down with a glare.
My shoulders bled. Your sword brought grief.
My arms were bind,
All I had was a fief.
One too small,
Yours at the highest rank.
But my ship hasn't sank.
I'm still not that weak.
I'll never be weak, because I know
That's what you seek.
You told me words, told words to my heart.
Remember? You said,
"Fall, but never apart."
"Will you wait for me,
Do you truly love me?"
I realized, it was all a game from your eyes.
You probably wouldn't even have cared if it was
Your own man that dies.
You lied.
You stole.
And I knelt and took the toll.
All you wanted was to hurt me,
See me bleed. But I don't surrender so easily.
All I'm saying is, no pain that comes towards me will succeed.
No one's ever gonna bring the end upon me, all you'll find is the best of me.
